Figaro made a vivid example that it is going to be a bit challenging to serve two masters. So, it is.
To promote our business online we make our web pages "search engine friendly" and, along with other techniques, we use "clean URLs". In Plain English it means a human readable web address without any special characters.
Here is one:
http://copperreflections.com/handmade-jewelry-blog/2008/08/how-to-market-handmade-jewelry-online/
and that is how it should be.
However, when it comes to micro-blogging it becomes a problem because there will be not enough space left for your message if you want to include that web link.
So, same time we want the address to be long and self-explanatory and we do not.
That is exactly where free services like is.gd and tinyurl.com come in handy. This link http://is.gd/2xPM points to the same page. It is much shorter and easier to use when you tweet.
Thanks
